I have had a few pairs, in both black and brown. They are reasonably comfortable and durable. The are fine in the office, and OK for taking a walk in - a good multipurpose shoe, without being especially good for any one activity. These have enough grip and durability that you could do some physical labor in them, or run to catch a bus, and not have any problems. They are also a good travel shoe. I like that they are somewhat non-descript, actually. They look fairly plain, which makes them OK for a wide range of settings. They are comfortable, even though I have plantar fasciitis. While walking downhill, my foot slipped forward and jammed my little toe into the shoe. they may be a little bit large but I suspect that the next smaller size would be too small.Got these for work. The heel is a quite bit boxier than normal and they are pretty bulky. Pretty close to work boots. The soles are really good. The mid-sole rubber is pretty dense. you can barely push it in which is good as softer mid-sole doesn't last very long. Don't know what all the rubber on the toe is for. Its a lot. Seems like it'd be good for kicking stuff. For thick heeled people that want to kick things these would be pretty good. The quality top notch, look great get complements regularly, little big on the fit but by the end of an 8 hour shift my feet are screaming pretty good.My husband loves them and wears only them everywhere!!!!I own several pairs of Keen shoes and boots. The Austins have a fairly symmetrical look where the toe cap comes up; less technical-looking so better for office-casual wear.Since the uppers are leather, they are a bit stiffer and tighter right around the lower eyelet area. However, I have big fat Flintstone feed with a high arch, and after a couple days of wearing these, they fit very comfortably with Superfeet insoles. The only reason I didn't give five stars is I'm a cheapskate...and these aren't budget shoes. The only dislike is that the Black dye gets on you socks. These shoes are better for around town wear than for exercise. They are durable is the main thing and they are easily cleaned using a cleaning brush and a little water. The arch support is grand and I expect they will last a couple more years easily. Previous KEEN shoes have lasted for more than 3 years. Best constructed shoe I've ever bought. I don't even bother with other brands now.Great shoes, just seem to fit a bit large compared to other Keen shoes I've bought.
